Privacy Policy

Bumbly Bee (“the game”) is published by the Bumbly Bee team. This policy explains what we store when you create an account or post a high score, what stays only on your device, and how to erase your data whenever you like. The game is fully playable without an account; signing in is optional and only unlocks the global high score board.

1. Accounts & sign-in

To appear on the global leaderboard you can create an account using Google, Sign in with Apple, or an email and password. Authentication is handled by the game’s managed backend. When you sign in with a social provider, the provider shares only the identity needed to log you in — we never receive your password and we never post anything back to your account.

For email/password accounts, your email address and a securely hashed password are stored by the backend’s authentication service. We do not see, store, or have access to the plaintext password.

2. How scores are stored

When you finish a run while signed in, your score is sent to a single “scores” table on the backend. Each player has exactly one row — a new personal best replaces the old one, so we never accumulate a history of every game you play. Only your single best score is kept.

Each leaderboard row contains only three pieces of information:

  • Your internal account ID (a randomly generated identifier).
  • The display name you chose when signing in.
  • Your single best score as a number.

The board shows the top 25 scores worldwide. Scores that do not rank in the top 25 are not displayed to other players, and your own personal best is visible only to you at the bottom of the board. We do not store timestamps of individual runs, the biomes you visited, your honeycomb count, or any gameplay replay data.

3. What stays on your device

Your best score, music and crash volume settings, collected honeycomb count, and whether you have seen the splash screen are saved locally in your browser or app storage. This data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

4. What we never collect or do

No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no location data, no contacts, no microphone or camera access, no access to photos or files, and no selling or sharing of your data with third parties. There are no in-app purchases in the game — every honeycomb is earned by playing. The “Share my score” button opens your device’s own share sheet; what you choose to share goes directly to the app you pick, never through us.

5. Data retention & security

Your account and score remain stored for as long as you keep your account. Data is encrypted in transit between your device and the backend. If you delete your data (see below) or close your account, the removal is immediate and permanent.

6. Children

Bumbly Bee is suitable for all ages. Signing in is entirely optional and the game is fully playable without an account. Social sign-in providers may impose their own minimum-age requirements.

7. Your rights & choices

You can review the global leaderboard at any time. You can delete your leaderboard display name and every score you have posted, and sign out, using the button below — deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also clear local data by removing the game’s storage from your device settings.

8. Contact
