How to play Bumbly Bee
Bumbly Bee is a free flappy-style arcade game. You guide a bee through gaps in golden honeycomb towers for as long as you can. One tap is the whole control scheme.
Controls
- Mobile: tap anywhere on the screen to flap.
- Desktop: click, or press Space / ↑.
- Every tap gives the bee a short upward boost; gravity pulls it back down.
- Use the pause button any time to take a break or adjust music and sound volume.
How scoring works
You score one point for every honeycomb tower you fly past. There is no timer and no finish line — the run ends when the bee touches a tower or the ground, so your score is simply how far you got.
Your personal best is saved on your device automatically. If you are signed in, your best score is also compared against the global top 25.
Biomes and day/night
The world changes as you climb: meadow, forest, snow, swamp, mountains, volcanic wasteland, candyland and finally an endless land of honey. A new biome appears every 100 towers, and each biome switches from day to night halfway through.
How honeycombs work
Golden honeycomb tokens appear at milestone towers. Collect one by flying through it. If you crash, you can spend a single honeycomb to continue the same run instead of starting over — a short 3-2-1 countdown gives you time to get ready.
Honeycombs are earned through gameplay, stored on your device and never required to keep playing. Sharing a score is always optional and does not award gameplay advantages.
Daily challenge and streaks
Each day has a target score. Beat it in any run and the day counts toward your streak, which is shown on the homepage. Miss a day and the streak restarts — nothing is lost from your best score or honeycombs.
Getting on the leaderboard
Playing never requires an account. To appear on the global top 25 you sign in once with Google, Apple or an email address, and your display name is shown next to your best score. Scores that do not qualify for the top 25 are simply discarded.
Tips for a higher score
- Tap in a steady rhythm rather than in panicked bursts — small, frequent taps keep the bee level.
- Aim for the middle of each gap; correcting from the centre is much easier than from the edges.
- Look ahead at the next tower, not at the bee.
- When a honeycomb token appears, only detour for it if the gap is comfortable.
- Take the pause button when you feel your rhythm slipping; tilting into a crash usually happens after a rushed tap.
